Review of BH Cosmetics 10 pcs Eco Brush Set featuring It Cosmetics Naturally Pretty Vol. 1 Matte Palette |
When I think about makeup brushes the first company that comes to mind is Sigma - not BH Cosmetics. But I have got to say that I'm kind of in love with their 10 pcs Eco Brush Set. The bristles are super soft and blend like a dream, plus the handles are a beautiful shade of green...which is my favourite colour! So win-win!
BH Cosmetics 10 pcs Eco Brush Set and Linen roll case |
The set comes with ten brushes - three for the face and 7 for your eyes. They are made out of recycled and natural materials, so eco friendly they are! The bristle are synthetic and super soft. They blend like a dream. The handle is made out of bamboo and is dyed lime green with a natural dye. The wrap roll case is made out of linen and is super soft. The case is great for travel.
Powder Brush
Haven't quite figured out what to use it for as it is a little on the small side for a all over powder brush, but it's super soft. I might try it as blush brush.
Love this brush for my blush. It is the perfect angled shape and density to pack on my blush and blend out.
Foundation Brush
Typical flat paddle foundation brush. I never use these for my actual foundation but I have used it for my under concealer. It's a little bigger then I would prefer, but it works in a jiff.
Great for blending out your eye crease or the outer V of your eye. Density is nice but flexible enough to blend easily.
Flat shader style brush that reminds me of Sigma's E52 Soft Focus brush. It packs on colour really well. I like to use it to pack on my lid colour.
Great small blender to really get into the outer corner of your eye to get that deepen look.
Smaller version of the Contour Blending Brush which works well for packing on colour in a more precise way.
I don't use this one as much, but when I do it's when I want a more precise angle to my outer v or if I don't want a defined liner look but a little added dimension.
Great densely packed flat liner that works well with gel or powder to line the eyes. I also like to use it on the lower lash line with some shadow to smoke out a look.
I've used the brush for three different purposes. For my lips, blemishes and for highlighting the inner corners of my eyes. It works fantastic for all of them and kind wish I had two more to dedicate to each function.
All in all, I really like this kit. I got it off of Hautelook a few weeks ago, but you can still get it on the BH Cosmetics website for only $12.95! Crazy good price. If your a die-hard Mac or Sigma brush user I urge you to check it out for yourself and see how they compare. You don't need to spend a fortune to get a great set of brushes!
