10 Tips For 10 Fantastic Fingertips, Featuring imPress Press-On Manicure

Ah yeah. I was once again impressed with imPressed Press-On Manicure. Courtesy of Influenster who kindly sent me a couple of packages of the press on nails, I was able to give the product a second try for you all.
So have my thoughts changed from my first review a couple of months ago? Let's find out. I tried out the "Evil Queen" set which is a duo-chrome purple taupe colour. I LOVED the colour. I was a little worried that the dark nail would be out of season for Spring, but because of the duo-chrome effect, it was so reflective and looked crazy cool. I really think that this was so well timed with the upcoming Disney movie Maleficent. Which, by the way, I am so excited to see in theaters. It looks so good.

So how do these little guys work? They have this neat sticky glue like tabs on the back of each nail. You simply peel the plastic tab off and press the fake nail onto your real one. Seems pretty basic right? It is, but I do have a few tips for you to get your "tips" into tiptop shape....Try saying that five times fast!

First "Tip
Don't forget your cuticles. Just because your skipping the nail polish process of your mani, that doesn't mean you get to neglect your cuticles. Make sure they are pushed back and cleaned up before applying the press on nail.

Make sure you map out what nails will go one each finger. I found that if did this, I never ran out of the sizes I needed. You'll noticed that there are more nails in the package then on your fingers...don't worry, you don't have a deformity. Broadway provides you with a variety of sizes to fit every nail.

Third "Tip"
When going to press the fake nail onto your real nails, start at the tips and slide it towards your cuticle while increasing pressure. I found that this created a suction like seal and insure the nail would not fall off.

Forth "Tip"
Keep pressure on your nail for at least 30 seconds before moving onto the next one. I found that the sooner your completed the seal, the lease likely you will loose a nail.

Fifth "Tip"
Make sure you apply the nail with the square notch at the top and not at the cuticle. If you accidentally do this, the seal will not be as strong and your nail will fall off.

Sixth "Tip"
File the square nodule with a soft emery board. That way you will have a perfectly round tip and not that awkward square at the top.

Seventh "Tip"
Just like any fresh manicure, try not to do any work around the house for an hour or so. These nails are meant to look pretty, but they are not meant to work through gardening, laundry or cleaning your bathtub.

Eighth "Tip"
Carry around bottle with the extra nails in your purse when you are out and about. If you lose a nail, you can apply one of the extras right there on the spot.

Ninth "Tip"
Before removing your nails, dip a Q-tip in nail polish remover (acetone) and rub along the sides of the nail. This will loosen up the seal and insure a easy removal process.

Tenth "Tip"
Use a nail file with a pointy edge to wedge off the nails. This way you don't have to deal with snapping the nails off the other hand until it is ready.

I hope you found these tips will help you with the application process. I find that if I follow all my "tips" for my tips, they look awesome and last up to four days. As I mentioned in my previous review, I find these nails to be a great substitute for salon gel or acrylic nails. I find that it takes up to a month or more for my nails to recover from the damage those manicures leave behind. What's so great about imPress Press-On Manicure is that it leaves your nails as perfect as they were before you applied them. Maybe even a little better, as you can't nibble on them...you know what I'm talking about.

A big thanks to Influenster for letting me try out these guys. I love to give my opinions and tips on products that we're all kinda curious about.
